It's Monday and honestly I need to sleep off this weekend. More about that later. For now: breakfast.
Servings: 2
Prep Time: 15 mins
Cook Time: 20 mins
Egg Scramble Ingredients:
- 5 large eggs, whisked
- 1 large tomato, diced
- 1 cup of mushrooms, sliced
- 1/4 onion, sliced
- 2 teaspoons garlic powder
- handful fresh basil, chopped
- Salt and pepper to taste
Pour the egg into a large frying pan and cook over medium heat for about a minute before adding in the veggies. Stir them all together the whole time you're cooking the egg mixture and voila- clean breakfast scramble!
Stove Top Sweet Potato Ingredients:
- 1 medium sweet potato cut into chunks
- 1/2 onion, sliced
- 1 clove garlic, minced
- 1 tablespoon garlic powder (less if you're not a garlic freak like us)
- 1-2 teaspoons Season-All
- 2 tablespoons Olive Oil (or oil of your choice)
Mix all the ingredients well and pour into a frying pan. Cover and cook over medium-high heat for about 15 minutes, stirring frequently. They are great.
Just like this breakfast, this weekend was great but almost too much.
Friday we went to a Nat's Game...confession: I hate baseball. I love drinking outside and that's about as far as my affection for baseball goes. I had to call it quits during the 7th inning to go the heck home (this was after I arrived during the 3rd inning due to excessive tailgating at The Bull Pen, sorry). It was a great night to be outside though!
Only in DC does everyone get all turned up about presidential mascots:
Saturday we went to Trillectro, DC's hip hop/electronic music festival.
Rained all day.
I was so confused by a lot of things at this music festival including but not limited to:
- Is everyone's clothes straight out of 1998 Delia's catalogue?
- Am I so old that this is like when flair jeans got cool and my mom said "I used to wear flair jeans they were so cool when I was younger too!" and I thought she was so lame?
- I am actually a decade older than the youngest attendants at this show?
- My feet and ankles hurt, how do people do this? How did I used to do this on the reg?
- I have heartburn for the first time in my life? Philly cheesesteaks from a food truck aren't my thing?
I also caught up on a little Teen Mom and as usual am also in a state of confusion re: Leah. When it's not the hair or makeup, it's everything else.
And Andi had an all out battle with the vacuum cleaner (I hate vacuuming too, Andi) during Sunday Cleaning.
Question: Has anyone else noticed that festival fashion came directly from the pages of Delia's 1998 catalogue? Was anyone allowed to order Delia's? I wasn't because it was too expensive but I studied that catalogue like my grades depended on it.
Linking up with Biana!
yes, the 90s are back. i cannot believe it. there are pics online of the old delia's catalogs!
ReplyDeleteUghh, Leah is so stressful to watch... I know she has a lot on her plate but she needs to calm down a bit! Haha, love that I'm sitting here chatting about Teen Mom... can't help it, love that show!
ReplyDeleteYou absolutely crack me up!! I always feel like I'm the oldie lady at these music festivals/concerts/etc. Such a sad story lol!!
ReplyDeletehaha you're so cute and yes, I've had those moments too where I realize I'm officially the oldest person in the room (or outside at a concert). I sort of hate baseball too and by sort of I mean I do but I love drinking beer with veggie dogs and sitting outside with friends. Why do they have the make the game so fricking long??? I mean 9 innings is just too much.
ReplyDeleteOur vacuum has teeth marks on it from Atlas' epic battle. Oh dogs :)
EXACTLY- 9 innings- why??
DeleteI had no idea dogs fighting vacuums was so normal!
well I don't really know what Delia's is because, you know, Australian, but I never understood festival fashion anyway. I am definitely too old for that shit - both what they are wearing and the whole standing all day. I can't even stand at a concert anymore, I need to sit down!
ReplyDeleteThat breakfast looks amazeballs though. Also, I don't like baseball either. I'll go sometimes, and at a baseball game was the first time I met my now hubby, so I don't hate it, but tailgating and drinking and having some food and beers with maybe an extra beer is my favourite part.
I am super jelly of your breakfast.
ReplyDeleteWe couldn't afford Delia's, but I posted pages from the catalog all over the walls of my room to dream about owning those perfect drawstring jeans and chunky heels while accessorizing with 900 butterfly clips. I have definitely noticed lately that I should have kept my 90's gear because it is coming back with an ugly vengeance.
Also, Andi is so stinking adorable!
Happy Monday sweets!!!!
I remember getting Delia's and Alloy catalogs in the mail!!! I only ever ordered a few things on clearance from them. They eventually opened a store in the mall near me which was pretty cool!
ReplyDeleteMy husband loves EDM and I know he wants to go to one of the festivals but I just dont think I can hang. I would feel super old, I don't own neon clothes anymore and all day? My poor ear drums! I would go deaf!
Yes! The fashion is so DELIA*s and I was never allowed to order EITHER!!!!! MAN! I loved skimming through the catalog though!
ReplyDeleteWhat an amazingly delicious looking breakfast! YUMGASM!
:) The cats hate the vacuum - It's hysterical.
Ahhhhh.... what is wrong with Leah's hair??? Why the horrific extensions? Just why? Side note, I passed a display of spray duster at Wal-mart this weekend and I was this close to taking a pic and tagging you in it lol.
ReplyDeletei'm 31 living the life of a 61 year old and proud of it! :) i think my old ladyness is a part of my charm? :)
ReplyDeleteThat breakfast is on point!! I have the same feelings towards baseball...no thank you lol!
ReplyDeletethat breakfast looks SO good!! xo jillian - stop by I'm hosting a great giveaway on cornflake dreams
ReplyDeleteDelia's was the shiz in my preteen/early teen years. It was super expensive! We eventually got a Delia's store, but I was over it by then. Leah is an interesting bird. She's still a step up from Jenelle.

Your breakfast looks amazing! I really want those sweet potatoes. I am sooooo glad I am not the only one who notices the styles are from when I was younger. I have tried to stop saying "I used to have that" or "I used to wear that" -especially to peeps that are actually wearing it!
ReplyDeleteIt reminds me of my mom or grandma saying that and I remember just thinking how dang old they were. Now I realized they weren't that old! I was just that young! Of course I thought I knew it all and now I realize how little I knew... but that doesn't have anything to do with clothes :)
That egg scramble looks amazing. That is my favorite breakfast after a long run! And just wait until you turn 38 *gasp* that's how old I'll be next week.....you feel even older...and then you feel like the old lady who is trying to look 20 but really looks like a cougar....so sad.
ReplyDeleteThat breakfast looks sooooo good! I love breakfast, and that is a must make for me. Too fun that Andi attacks the vacuum. My dog wants nothing to do with it haha.
ReplyDeleteThat breakfast really does look yummy!!!
