The ABC's of Me

Friday, April 4, 2014

I've noticed a lot of new followers lately, and while I can't guarantee it's not my parents logging on from thousands of computers and accounts every day to make me feel good about my blog, I'm going to go ahead and let you know a little about myself. I got this idea from Kandid Kristen whose ABC's had me rollllinggg on the floor. So please, allow me to introduce myself:

A- Awkward City. I'm the mayor.

B- Balls to the walls. When I like something I don't just like it, I go balls to the walls with it (want to see my spreadsheets?)

C- CrzyKrl. Because that was my license plate when I turned 16 and bought my own car and bought my own, yes, vanity license plate. Get it? Like crazy curls...I know. I was 16. And it looked like "Crazy Karl".

D- Dog Lover. Duh. And what is with people who aren't dog lovers?
how could you not love this face?

E- Extravert. This doesn't mean I'm loud and crazy (ok well crazy, maybe) and center of attention (in fact I hate being the center of attention), it just means I get my energy from being around people. And alone time sucks all my energy out. Common misconception.

F- Family. Family is everything. I have a brother who is a year and a half younger than me who looks like my twin and parents who are so supportive that they actually would log into thousands of accounts a day to make me feel good about a silly blog.
I knowww. We were so presh.

G- GO DAWGS! I went to University of Georgia and love Georgia football.

H- Happy. All the time. I have so much to be thankful for!

I- Indecisive. I can overthink ANYTHING.

J- Judgy. I try hard not to be. Like really really hard. But sometimes...

K- Kids. My life mission is to work for all kids be able to be kids, and I'm not going to stop working for this until all of our kids have equal opportunities and access to resources and safety... or I die. Whichever comes first. Look, I have worked with kids in some of the worst conditions, and no matter what your political views or beliefs are, you have to know that all kids deserve a fair chance. When kids don't get a chance to be kids, they don't have much shot of growing up to be successful productive adults. ::steps off of soapbox::

L- Lactard. No dairy for this girl.

M- Meat Eater. Gimme all da meats now. (DID SOMEBODY SAY STEAK)

N- NPR nerd. Kojo Show! Diane Rehme! RadioLab! This American Life! And this Buzzfeed article of what we think our NPR anchors look like vs. what they actually look like.

O- Ooopsies! For all the times I trip and fall on my face..(2-3 times/day on average)

P- Parenthood because WHAT HOW AM I JUST NOW WATCHING THIS SHOW?! And what is with Aiden being a bad guy???

Q- Quite emotional. If the average person's resting emotions are a 2, my resting rate is about 8. Meaning I cry a lot (happy tears, sad tears, empathy tears, whatever).

R- Relationships. My main value is healthy relationships, and if I have that right then I have everything right. This means healthy relationship with God, family, Harrison, friends, neighbors, work, food, myself, everything.

S- Sorry Not Sorry. That's my motto and I'm stickin to it.

T- Teen Mom. My guilty pleasure.

U- Um, nope. Things on my "um, nope" short list: Chris Brown, the Red Line, talking about being too busy, grown people in Twitter wars, excuses, rudeness, Kimye.

W- Washingtonian. Because now I own a home in DC and am officially a Washingtonian!!

X- eXplorer. I've been so fortunate to live in a lot of awesome places: Richmond, VA --> Kansas City, MO --> Lawrence, KS --> Richmond, VA --> Athens, GA --> Los Angeles, CA --> Providence, RI --> Richmond, VA --> Washington, DC.

Y- Yucked out by mouth noises. Really, if you are making them  (sucking smacking chewing etc) I'm going to have to leave the room.

WHY ARE YOU MAKING THOSE NOISES WITH YOUR MOUTH
Z- BuZz. As in celebrity gossip buzz. Another guilty pleasure of mine.

  1. I am 86% sure we were separated at birth. Girl, if you are the mayor of awkward city than I am the mayor of its suburb, akwardville. Hilarious!

  2. Let's take a moment to think about what a bitch the red line is. Thank you, car from 1977, you have just made me 45 minutes late to work. Congrats on buying a home in dc! I think you have found the holy grail.
