How to throw a not-so-typical bachelorette party

Friday, September 26, 2014

When planning my bachelorette party I had one request: No tiaras/penises/sashes/cheesiness. Which left my friends with pretty few options in the decor/accessories department. HOWEVER, I have the best/most creative friends ever and they came up with some awesome alternatives:

Light Up Rings: My friend Maggie found these in the dollar aisle at Target and cleared it out. These were a great way to be not too tacky but still let people know that we are a bachelorette party and they should buy us drinks:

Finger Lights: Harrison takes these to every wedding, party, everything. He sent us with a box of these. At $10 for 80 lights, you can even afford to use them as currency and hand them out.

Posters: I used this picture on cards to ask my bridesmaids, and they blew it up into a giant poster to decorate our room. Me, as giant Beyonce. I really have the best friends. You can do this on Vistaprint and other photo sites.

Cheers, Bitches Banner: Etsy, Party City, and all kinds of stores have similar banners. Cheers, Bitchesss!

Custom Coozies: I love beer, I love coozies, and this neon pink made it easy to identify everyone with our party. Plus I really like the design- don't we look so classy?

Custom Napkins: These were such a fun detail!

Slap Bracelets: Not everyone knew each other, so I wanted to make sure there was a way for everyone to identify each other when we were wandering around the hotel, hitting the slots, at the club, or at the beach. Animal print slap bracelets, yes.

Tell me: do you have ideas for bachelorette parties that don't involve tiaras/sashes/penises?

  8. I collect coozies so that is my fave thing. I would probably do a customized Tervis tumbler with a lid for everyone for in room/cold beach drinks. We do a girls beach trip every year and everyone gets a cup with name and date and a beach design on it. Love them!

Coozies never get old - and do a great job keeping stuff cold! I like the napkins and all the other cool stuff the girls did for you. What a great weekend it must have been.
