fitnessblender.com videos ROCK |
For those of us who can't even afford the employee discount at the gym, youtube is our own personal trainer. This is also great for those of us (cough cough like me) who have zero coordination and feel ridiculous in fitness classes. Here is a list of my favorite (and the best obvi) FREE full-length youtube videos that can be done in the tiny space between my bed and dresser with minimal equipment (little handweights at the most). There are lots of short workout videos all over youtube to put together your own workout, these full length videos are good for when I'm low on motivation and I know every time I have to change a video I run the risk of telling myself "Meh you know that was enough for the day..I'm gonna call it quits".
What am I missing? Anyone know of other great youtube resources?

Hello fellow bargain/thrifty person! So glad to have stumbled across your blog! I needed just this, actually. Tried the insanity workout program but that is genuinely insane (I should have guessed) and ruined me after the first session, these seem much more feasible. I needed some home work outs. Thank you!

glad to be helpful! I like the online videos too because you can really take them at your own pace!
DeleteWhile the mainstream fitness media still insists that aerobic
Deleteexercise is a great way to lose weight, Turbulence Training users
know that interval training is the better way to burn body fat.
Still not convinced?
A recent study published by the North American Association for the
Study of Obesity, subjects aged 40 to 75 were instructed to do 60
minutes of aerobic exercise per day for 6 days per week for an
entire year.
Given the amount of exercise, you'd expect weight losses of 20, 30
pounds, or more, right?
Well, the surprise findings showed the average fat loss for female
subjects was only 4 pounds for the entire year, while men lost 6.6
pounds of fat over the year. That's over 300 hours of aerobic
exercise just to lose a measly 6 pounds of blubber. Not time well
spent, in my opinion.
So what's the better way? Stick with Turbulence Training, using
interval training and strength training to get better bodysculpting
results. With intervals, you'll achieve more fat burning results in
less workout time.
The next time you are out exercising, perform a session of interval
training. If you are walking or running outside, find an incline
that can challenge you for 60 seconds, then walk down for 60-120
seconds, and repeat up to 6 times.
If you walk or run on a treadmill, adjust the incline or speed to
safely increase the challenge for 60 seconds, then return to the
normal pace for 60-120 seconds, and repeat up to 6 times.
You can also use a rowing machine, bicycle or stationary bike, or
even an elliptical machine to do intervals.
But whatever you do, stay away from boring, ineffective cardio
exercise workouts and stick with Turbulence Training for your fat
burning program.

Author, Turbulence Training
"I'm 25 and was seriously overweight at the start of this year. I've
been doing the TT for Fat Loss Workouts and after 5 months of
training. I've lost nearly 28lbs. I want to take this opportunity
to thank Craig for making your knowledge so accessible and your
articles and blogs that not only make us think about our
lifestyles, but encourage us to change them for better health."

"Turbulence Training makes so much sense and I really enjoy the
different workouts so never get bored. From an aussie that was
looking for something other than just another weight workout
with the same old moves this has been a real eye opener for me and
I have been telling my friends just how great the TT method is."

Hi, I'm Cassi and I'm uncoordinated! One of the many reasons why I don't do well at a gym. I can look like Elaine from Seinfeld all by myself.
ReplyDeleteahh haha Elaine sums it up perfectly! I completely Elaine-d through Zumba class when I tried. Barely got a workout because I was so focused on trying to coordinate my moves...
DeleteElaine from Seinfeld - ha ha!
DeleteI just started Zumba in a group setting, something I swore I'd never do due to my lack of dancing ability - but I'm enjoying it. Other than that though, I'm a homebody and solo workouter :)
Wow you are better than me hunting and shopping out there on youtube.com to find these full featured fitness vids! Do you typically follow them on a computer, laptop, tablet or something else? Thanks for participating in WOW! We love reading your article posts!
ReplyDeleteI just got a great new laptop from work that can actually stream the videos haha! Before that I was watching the videos on my cell phone!
DeleteI use my Roku and PlayOn/PlayLater ... with that I can watch anything I would normally be tied to my computer on, and watch on my TV. With PlayLater I can actually record the videos to my computer, and still have them just in case they ever get removed.
DeleteThanks for the tip, Jen! I didn't know about PlayLater!
DeleteThanks for these! I can never find good workout videos on youtube. The last one I tried was a yoga one that I failed to see the word "advanced" in the title. I will have to try some of these :)
ReplyDeleteLet me know how they go for you! I read the comments before I try the video to try to get a gauge of how crazy the workout will be too, that is always helpful!
DeleteThanks for all the suggestions! Some great looking new ones to try and I'm glad to see you share my undying love of Fitness Blender :)
