I've never been much of an arm-worker-outer so I did a little research and found some great resources and articles for toning up the arms and I'm going to incorporate these into my daily workout routine. I don't want to be like bulging out of my clothes or anything but I want to have those arms that people are like "oh hey whoa I never noticed Lindsay was actually kind of buff until she picked up that 100-lb object with one hand and all her muscles flexed". Haha. But really-
FitSugar's article on Yoga Poses to Tone Arms shows yoga poses to tone arms without equipment and these are the two I will start with. Check out last week's Wednesday Workout for free yoga video sites.
Livestrong's article The Fastest Way to Tone Flabby Arms (um hi FASTEST? how fast are we talking?) stresses the importance of reducing fat through healthy eating and cardio THEN toning. OK ALSO lesson from this article: women store more fat in their upper arms than men because of hormones!??!

DeleteHormones are dumb. My tummy and upper arms are proof.
ReplyDeleteI like small hand weight exercises myself. I use a lot of popsugar videos for arms. I have been super slacking on everything but my cardio.
Also- woooooooo wedding dresses!!
OH I should definitely check out the popsugar videos!
DeleteI really go with weights and do bicep curls and tricep extensions. Push ups are great too.

These are great! I never notice how un-toned my arms are until I see pictures of myself! I'm not getting married but will be in a strapless dress for a friend's wedding soon so this is something I definitely need to work on! :)
ReplyDeleteI love weight training and have recently joined a cross-fit gym. It really makes my arms toned. Thanks for the great workout tips.
ReplyDeleteWell you will look amazing on your wedding day regardless! But yeah, the backs of my upper arms are a tough spot to hit! All good tips. I'll add that swimming helps a lot if you have access to a pool.
ReplyDeleteI like doing the assisted pull-up and dip machine for toned arms and upper body. I do four sets of 10 dips and pull-ups. Stopping by from the #wowlinkup.
ReplyDeleteLindsay NOW you are talking my language! I love working arms because I like feeling powerful so PUSH UPS it is. Along with shoulder presses, later raises, front raises, tricep kickbacks, tricep overhead presses, straight arm planks, straight arm side planks, bicep curls, and hammer curls. Can you say I am very excited about your post? Arm circles also work - do them for 2 minutes nonstop. Ahhh yes your arms will be Michelle Obama level in no time. Thanks for stopping by #wowlinkup.
ReplyDeleteMy arms have shrunk but the wings seem to keep growing. I'm actively looking for a way to cut away the flaps. I don't have the upper body strength to hold myself up like that though. Go you!
ReplyDeleteI love all the Blogilates arm workouts, and they have made a huge difference, especially in the small muscles in my back!
ReplyDeleteI've tried some of these workouts! They are super hard but they definitely work
