Healthy, Clean Thanksgiving Recipes

Monday, November 24, 2014

Thanksgiving is my absolute FAVORITE holiday. I love the food, the family time, togetherness, and of course the FOOD! This year Tonii, Andi, Ziggy and I are heading to Richmond to celebrate with family and friends (Harrison is with family in Alabama. We're taking advantage of the last Thanksgiving we aren't obligated to spend away from our families haha).

ANWAY this is a post I did last year of a collection of my clean spin on traditional Thanksgiving dishes:

  1. Almond Crusted Creamy Green Bean Casserole
  2. Garlic Cauliflower Mash (Low Carb Mahsed Potato Substitute)
  3. Baked Okra
  4. Green Beans
  5. Mashed Sweet Potatoes
  6. Fall Kale Salad
  7. Deviled Eggs
  8. Cranberry Sauce
This Clean Eating Leftover Turkey Salad is my favorite way to use up leftover turkey:

Also, being the type A that I am, I have all these all-age-dinner-appropriate Pandora stations and a playlist made by Harrison ready to go for dinner:

Tell me: what's your favorite Thanksgiving meal? Do you keep it healthy on the holiday?

  1. I love all of your recipes and wish they would be on the table this year! sadly if i made these a) no one would eat them and b) my mother in law would be offended because she's making the less healthy version of all of these, so anything i bring would be rude. gah.

  3. OOOOH! Healthy Clean Recipes! LOVE IT! I am roasting Sweet Potatoes and Beets to bring to Klay's parents - and I'm making a killer loaded salad. I can't wait to see what I come up with. My theme is going to be FALL - I'm thinking squash and apples - and making my own dressing!

I am over zealous in the kitchen! HAHAHA!

  5. These recipes look delish! My favs are mashed potatoes with gravy - especially since I don't eat them any other time of year. I like sweet potato casserole and green bean casserole. I like the healthy version of sweet potato casserole but they are delish both ways.

  9. So you live in DC and hang out in Richmond??? We HAVE to have mutual friends! The bulk of my homies live in those two cities... And Richmond isn't very big! Small world.

  10. I usually let Thanksgiving be a free pass to eat whatever, but this year I'm trying to stay a little more on the healthier side, so these are prefect. I'm definitely going to try the clean eating turkey salad. Looks great and a perfect way to use up the left-overs :)
